I just discovered Danskos last week. Well, I've known about them for a long time. But they were usually beyond my budget. I found this fabulous, fabulous store in nearby Augusta, Georgia called Goody Two Shoes. It's a tiny little store in a crazy obscure BAD neighborhood, and it has really strange hours, but I always heard that I NEEDED to go in there. So I went last week, and gasp! they had Danskos. For super super CHEAP. I got TWO pairs for less than $35 total. My feet love me, and I love my shoes more every time I put them on. I'm a total convert. I wear Birks all summer, and I was lamenting because it's gotten colder and I wasn't looking forward to wearing "closed-in" shoes. Now I don't want to wear anything else.

Hello twelve other people,

I just learned about this tribe and joined because I'm a fan of Dansko shoes. I have about five pairs and I'm coveting more of them, although I'm trying to keep my consumption in check. I also like other brands of "comfort shoes" like Keen and Børn (with the Danish o) but Dansko seems the most versatile. They have great colors!

My recent favorites are the ones that are office-appropriate, like Regina. I walk a short distance to work and don't like to wear ugly athletic shoes and then change; I also don't like the clack-clack of dress shoes.

Do you buy yours at a local store, or on Zappo's, or...?

I'm so glad to find other Dansko lovers!

Here's how I found Dansko's:

My boss has been telling me about them for years, but I always thought it was one of those ladies-who-go-nuts-over-shoes kind of things.

Then, this year, I was helping out at a friend's wedding, and I needed a pair of comfortable shoes to go with a dress. So, I went over to a shopping center and found two pairs of sandals, depending on what dress I was going to wear. I bought a pair of black Moxies, which were great with a black with pink flowers dress I had.

I was on my feet all day, which normally my back and knees and feet would have been killing me. Instead, I was ready to go walking in the evening, except I didn't have anyone to walk with--everyone else was going home.

I went out the following week and got some of the classic clogs.

I notice when I wear them that my legs feel different, my feet feel different. Before Danskos, I couldn't feel and appreciate the muscles in my legs (i'm a little out of shape right now). When I wear my Danskos, my legs feel strong and flexible and I walk with more confidence and comfort.

I've been wearing nothing but Dansko's ever since, except for when I go to the gym.

I went to an 80's party last night, and wore tennis shoes. I was on my feet all night, doing a little dancing and some chit chatting etc. My feet were hurting and my back is still a little sore. I've gotta get back into my Danskos today.
